Wrap it Up: A Festive Twist to Easy Holiday Wall Art

The holiday season is all about warmth, joy, and spreading cheer…and making our homes cozy to get in the spirit! If you’re looking for a simple and affordable way to give your home a holiday makeover, I’ve got the perfect trick for you—holiday-wrapping your existing wall art.

A few years ago, my creative mother-in-law shared this clever idea with me, and it has since become a cherished tradition in our household. The best part? It’s a hassle-free and budget-friendly way to add a touch of holiday magic to your living space without investing in a ton of seasonal decor. Not having to store a bunch of seasonal decor?! Materials You’ll Need:

  1. Wrapping Paper (here’s a similar black and white wrapping paper to the one I used here!)
  2. Ribbon (here’s the copper ribbon I used)
  3. Bows (here’s the exact bow I used here!)
  4. Scissors
  5. Tape

Select Your Art: Choose the wall art you want to transform. It could be a favorite painting, a framed photograph, or even a mirror. I wrap our giant six foot long canvas every year!

Measure and Cut: Lay out your wrapping paper and measure enough to cover the chosen art piece. Cut the paper, leaving a little extra on each side to ensure complete coverage.

Wrap It Up: Place your art in the center of the wrapping paper and fold the edges neatly, securing them with tape on the back. Just like wrapping a gift!

Add Ribbon: Now, it’s time to get creative with the ribbon. Crisscross different ribbons for a playful look or go for a simple, elegant design. Secure the ribbon at the back.

Top It Off with Bows: Place bows strategically on your wrapped art. You can choose to have one large bow as a centerpiece or scatter smaller bows for a whimsical touch.

Hang with Care: Once your wall art is transformed into a festive masterpiece, carefully hang it back in its original spot.

Benefits of Holiday-Wrapped Wall Art:

  1. Cost-Effective: Wrapping paper, ribbons, and bows are budget-friendly compared to buying new holiday-themed decor.
  2. Space-Saving: No need to find storage for additional seasonal items. Once the holidays are over, simply unwrap and store the materials for next year.
  3. Personalized Style: Choose wrapping paper and ribbons that reflect your personal style and complement your existing decor.
  4. Eco-Friendly: Reusing wrapping paper and materials is a sustainable and eco-friendly way to celebrate the holidays.

This easy holiday wall art idea not only adds a festive flair to your home but also brings a sense of creativity and resourcefulness to your holiday preparations. So, grab your wrapping supplies, channel your inner artist, and let the holiday decorating begin!
