Leather Refinishing Kit Review: RubNRestore
There are two things I really love (1) saving money by DIYing and (2) cognac tan leather… I also reallyyyy love clubhouse style furniture. So, when I saw two genuine leather club chairs on Facebook Marketplace for $100 each, I knew I needed to pull the trigger…even if the color of leather was a little dark for my taste.
I impulse bought the restoration hardware chairs, and did a ton of research on leather paint or oil to change the color of the leather. Unfortunately all of the leather paint options I was finding made the leather look “cheap”. The finish made the leather look (and some reviews even said feel), plastic-y.
After scouring Amazon for hours, I came across a product called “Rub n Restore” leather color conditioner. I was nervous, but I was intrigued by the before and after videos I found on youtube. I pulled the trigger and ordered it in color “camel”.
I was able to transform two dark leather chairs into two beautiful cognac leather accent chairs for our living room for $70. Similar chairs new were over $2,000 each!
It has been one year since I applied this product to the chairs and they still look amazing. The color hasn’t transferred at all and still looks as fresh as it did a year ago.
My advice is not to let the color of leather stop you if you find a good bargain on leather furniture! The options are endless with this product!
** I should mention, this blog post is in no way sponsored, nor did I receive gifted product. In fact, I took a huge leap of faith and paid $70 for this product. And I just have to say, it was 10000% worth it!**
