Here Comes the Son: A Sunshine-Inspired Baby Shower

In August, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a baby shower for one of my dearest friends who is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first child. The theme was “Here Comes the Son,” a playful twist on the classic Beatles’ song, “Here Comes the Sun.” With a warm color palette of yellows and oranges, accented by pops of blue, the atmosphere was set for a day filled with sunshine and love.

The key to bringing the “Here Comes the Son” theme to life was through the decor and fun “sun” themed puns. We set up a large balloon garland a blend of sunny yellows and oranges, cascading down the staircase. The balloon garland not only served as a stunning focal point but also added a touch of playfulness to the entire space.

To add a personal touch, we crafted a onesie garland, showcasing an array of baby onesies in the chosen color scheme. The onesies, not only added a delightful element to the decor but were functional and something baby could use after the shower day!

For a picture-perfect backdrop, we opted for a fringe photo backdrop in shades of yellow and orange. This provided a fantastic setting for capturing precious moments and creating lasting memories. The fringe backdrop added a sense of texture and movement to the space, making it even more visually appealing.

Florals played a significant role in enhancing the overall aesthetic of the baby shower. Fresh blooms in yellow and white were arranged in various vases throughout the space, creating elegant centerpieces for the tables.

To keep the theme alive, the food and drink stations were curated to reflect the sunny ambiance. A refreshing lemon punch and a variety of sun-pun drinks were served to quench the thirst of the guests. The menu featured an array of bright and flavorful dishes, from salads to fresh fruit platters, to ensure a variety of snacks in line with the cheerful theme.

This was such a fun theme, and the day was filled with laughter, love, and anticipation for the new addition. As we celebrated the impending arrival of the little one, it was evident that, much like the sun, this baby shower brought a radiant glow to everyone in attendance.
